The Summer of 1997 emerged from two separate conversations about a first kiss. I interviewed two people independently and asked them to recall the moment as precisely as possible — the light, the music, the season, the nervousness, the touch.
Although their memories differed in detail and perspective, they shared a similar emotional intensity. In the painting, I merged these two strands of memory into a single image — not as a documentary reconstruction,  but as a condensation of the feelings and meaningful details that shaped the moment for both.

The Dialogue of Form and Space

Every artwork is an extraction of time, captured in a deliberate balance of texture, form, and light. It exists not merely as a visual object, but as an open invitation to perceive the unseen—a bridge between the artist’s inner landscape and the quiet contemplation of the observer.
Through a meticulous layering of medium and intent, this piece challenges the boundaries of its own surface. The deliberate composition guides the eye across subtle transitions, creating a rhythm that shifts depending on the environment, the time of day, and the perspective of those who stand before it. It is a silent dialogue, preserved in its purest form, meant to anchors itself within the space it inhabits.

"Light is not just something that makes things visible; it is a physical entity that shapes our reality. Change the frequency of light, and you change the world."

A master of light and shadow, Dr. Arthur Vance's kinetic light installations explore human perception and optical illusions. His immersive architectural takeovers challenge how audiences experience physical space and time.
